A Woman, The Lord and the Hem of His Garment

There is this very remarkable story about the woman who touched the hem of Jesus’ garment and was instantly healed. Now many people think that she was the only one who touched Him and was made whole – however, that is not the case, there were very many others that touched him – the story of the woman is told so we can have clues about how He was touched and how those who touched, were immediately delivered.  Luke 6:19 says:

And the whole multitude sought to touch Him: for there went virtue out of Him, and healed them all. Hallelujah!

So how did the woman touch Him? She was desperate, her problem had lasted for 12 years, she had spent all of her savings and earnings on Doctors and Medicines but did not get better – she actually grew worse. So how did she touch Him?

1.  She had heard that Jesus had done wonders for many people

2.  She believed or had faith that she would be healed by the same Jesus

3.  She spoke to herself – she said within her “If I can just touch the hem or hedge of his garment, that will be the end of this 12 year old disease – I will be healed”

4. Once she saw the Lord, she made her move, she forced her way through the crowds that followed Him and touched the hem and instantly, she was totally healed!

Can we still touch the hem of his garment today? Of course we can. Here is how to do it

1. Realize that Jesus is still walking on the earth today – He promised His disciples and us saying, “I will not leave you helpless, I will come back to you”; thus He is back in the person of the Holy Spirit.

2.  Grow tired of your condition, sickness or disease

3. Understand that He walks on your road every day! Jesus Christ the same, yesterday and today and forever

4. Immediately it gets dark tomorrow, stand in front of your house, on that road, lift up your eyes by faith and see Him coming from a distance in a sparkling white garment – your physical eyes will see humans but your spiritual eyes will see Him.

5. Say to yourself “if I can just touch the hem of Jesus’ garment, I shall be instantly healed.

6. Let your faith grow as He walks towards you, once He gets to where you stand, stretch out your hand physically and touch Him spiritually and you will be instantly healed.
